The youths are our future

WHY WE CARE

Millions of African Children are not going to school due to poverty. Instead of the promise of a better future through education with all its attendant benefits, these children engage in street trading to help them and their families survive. The importance of giving these vulnerable children access to quality education therefore, need not be overemphasized as we believe that the best gift one can give to any child is education.

For these reasons, the Rochas foundation was established to take the children of the poorest of poor off the streets and open classroom doors to them for a better future. We are passionate about offering these children exciting, stimulating and rich curriculum, based on real reasons for learning because irrespective of background, we believe that “Every Child Counts” and should have the opportunity to meet their potentials and develop the academic, creative, social and moral skills that will enable them secure and fulfill a happy and prosperous future for themselves and for the African community at large.

WHY WE CARE

Individual guidance for all students remains the basis upon which the school’s curriculum is structured. Rochas Foundation College of Africa offers young people the unique experience of living and learning in an exciting environment that is dedicated to not just the highest level of academic achievement but also to personal growth and development.

The Boarding Houses are purposefully designed to give students comfortable personal space and areas to study effectively outside of the classroom. Students are looked after by experienced academic staff, following clear boarding policies and practices; a House parent, a Tutor, a Matron and Patron, are resident in each boarding house. Sound staff-student relationships are fostered and students’ privacy respected.

The College has an effective policy on countering bullying and follows a ‘firm but fair’ policy on behaviour and discipline. We understand that meals are an important part of school life, both for the students and teachers. At Rochas Foundation College of Africa we provide a healthy, balanced and nutritious diet which offers students choice and variety.

WHY WE ARE SPECIAL

Rochas Foundation College of Africa is a modern co-educational boarding school designed to provide conducive learning environment for the African child.

Every year ROFOCA admits five (5) African children who are from the poorest of the poor families.

We provide a broad based education using international best practices and tools to meet the needs of the global world. Students sit for Junior WAEC at JSS 3 and SSCE O’levels at SS3.

The College is set on 30 hectares of natural landscape in Owerri, the state capital of Imo state, Nigeria. The serene environment gives students the space to grow, free from the hustles and distractions of the city life.

The Foundation’s vision is to provide free qualitative and comprehensive education for talented less privileged children, who ordinarily would have lost hope of going to school without external help.

At Rochas Foundation, we build schools that offer free education to the poorest of the poor in the society. Everything is free!! Uniforms, shoes, ceremonial uniforms, traditional wears, feeding etc. are all free. We have a strong team to cater for all students.

OUR DREAM

OUR DREAM

To build the first foundation tree growing out of Africa, providing educational shelter for the less privileged all over the world.
OUR VISION

OUR VISION

To make education free and accessible to every less privileged African child, regardless of tribe, religion, or class. The foundation’s vision for education is COMPREHENSIVE and focuses on Africa’s under privileged and vulnerable children. This however was propelled by the difficulties the founder faced in going to school as a child due to poverty. At Rochas Foundation, we believe in rehabilitating children by giving them access to free qualitative education, shelter, food and clothing, with counseling services for the abused amongst them, as we seek to rescue them from the damage that must have been done through illiteracy, ignorance and poverty.
